Built from experience
Scaffold Boss was created by Paul Mitchell after more than three decades working in and around the scaffolding industry.
Paul started on the tools. Since then, he has worked across different scaffolding firms, supervised jobs, handled the paperwork and admin behind them, and run his own scaffolding business. He understands the job from the pavement, the yard and the office—and where information gets lost between the three.
Over the years, the same problem kept appearing. Scaffolding firms are expected to manage a huge amount of information, yet too much of it remains scattered across notebooks, WhatsApp messages, spreadsheets, photographs, paperwork and people’s memories.
The site team knows things the office doesn’t. The office needs information the gang hasn’t received. Surveys get interpreted differently. Plans change on site. Timesheets need chasing. Tomorrow’s work still has to be organised while somebody answers the phone and keeps today’s jobs moving.
Scaffold Boss grew out of that reality.
It isn’t generic office software with scaffolding terminology added afterwards. It’s scaffolding management software built around the real journey of a job—from survey and quotation to planning, site progress, handover, time records and the commercial paperwork that follows.
Paul’s rule is simple: if a feature wouldn’t genuinely make life easier for the scaffolder, supervisor or office team, it doesn’t belong.
The aim isn’t to teach scaffolders how to work around another piece of software.
It’s to build software that finally works around scaffolders.

The product connects contacts, enquiries, site surveys, quotations, diary planning, jobs, gangs, personnel, site updates, handovers, timesheets, invoices and related administration. The aim is to carry useful detail forward instead of asking each stage to recreate it.
Yes. The interface adapts across phones, tablets and desktop computers. Authorised office users can work with denser planning and records, while site teams can reach the relevant job information and capture actions on a phone.
Full offline operation is not currently part of the public promise. We will only publish an offline claim when the complete workflow has been implemented and tested.
